Elevator Guide Rails, mounted in the elevator shaft, are used to guide the movements of the elevator car and its counterweight in the vertical direction and to restrict their horizontal movements, and to stop the elevator car in case of operation of the parachute device.

Elevator rails are divided into two classes as machined elevator rails and cold drawn elevator rails.
